The Stanford Society for Latin American Politics (SSLAP) provides students passionate and curious about the political, economic, and social developments of Latin America an intellectual space to engage with these interests through periodic discussions and events with experts and professionals in the field. Former guest speakers include José Mujica, former president of Uruguay, and Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia.

SSLAP believes in Latin America's potential to become a global leader in sustainable, equitable development in the 21st century. Yet the challenges faced by Latin America as a region are immense. SSLAP aims to foster an environment where the next generation of Latin American leaders can come together and begin tackling these challenges.

We are proudly part of the Center for Latin American Studies! Learn more about CLAS here.
